A healthy snack doesn’t have to be complicated
Sometimes the quick and a simple healthy snack is the best. This combination of apples, nut or seed butter of your choice (I used peanut butter) is a perfect after-school or bedtime snack. The macronutrients are well balanced, it provides protein, healthy omega 3 fats, carbohydrates, many nutrients, and fiber.
Another plus: apples, nut butter, and hemp seeds are foods I always have stocked in my fridge! Nothing that I need to go grocery shopping for first.
Apple Slices with Nut Butter and Hemp Seeds
Ingredients
- 1 apple
- 1/4 cup nut or seed butter, almonds, cashew, peanut... (tastes yummy with any nut butter)
- 1/4 cup hemp seeds
Instructions
wash and cut apple
cover one half of the apple slice with nut butter of your choice
sprinkle hemp seeds on top or dip the side of the apple which is covered with nut butter into a little bowl with hemp seeds. I noticed with the dipping option you will have more hemp seeds stick to the nut butter. Enjoy!
